Trifle Crumbs

If you put Trifle in a blender, then put the mush in a centrifuge, would you get trifle again?

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I thought I'd illustrate my festive Thursday with various Christmas trees I've seen recently.
This (above) is my Christmas tree at home in Essex. The fish love it, they are completely mesmorised by the lights, and just stare. A quote from 'A Bugs Life' comes to mind....
"Don't go the the light...but its soooo beautiful!!!"

Sarah, Sofee, Keira and I went to London, and this is Trafalgar Square! Was a bit of a pathetic tree, and most of the spines were on the ground. Guess the foreign tree didn't like Britain much! (who can blame it?)
This is a tree I came across whilst pubbing after my work xmas do! O what a night!

This is the tree in my house in Portsmouth! Thanks to my housemates who decorated it!

This is the tree at work in the foyer!

I couldn't find a Christmas tree in Cambridge, so I settled for the giant snowman outside our hotel instead :D

X-Factor Final Frolics

Before you say it, yes, I watched X-Factor...
Mainly because I wanted to curl up on the sofa, and my housemates wanted to watch it.
Believe what you will....
Anyway, after 2 hours of final performances, and appearances from Boyzone, Westlife and Beyonce, the phonelines opened for people to vote for who they wanted to ring.
So
My housemate Kelly, with her love for Alexandra jumped off the sofa "Oh, its only 35p, i'm going to vote!" The number for Alex was still on the screen, so we read it out to her quickly before it disappeared. The next thing I heard was...
"OMG I've just voted for JLS!!!"
What we didn't realise was that the number changed half way through reading it out to her, and she had rung up for the wrong competitor.
I just had visions of JLS winning by one vote...all thanks to us reading the screen wrong.
So
Desperate to vote for Alex, she then had to ring up for Alex twice more to balance it out.
Costing her in total £1.05 to vote once :D
Magic.
X-Factor has never made me laugh so hard!

Bridge over troubled Cam-ness

Monday to Thursday was predominantly spent in Cambridge doing some test work for the company I work for.

Which made a change to the daily slog, but I wish I had slightly more time to prepare for it. I missed out on my turn to open the advent calender :(

Anyway, it was a cold week, and was constantly moaning (sorry Angie). We had a weird hire car, which didn't have a hand brake, it had a button, up by the key slot. This strikes me as bizzare, as you only had to press the button to put the handbrake on, and to release it you just pulled away.
Although, due to the fact that they didn't give us a manual, it took us a few dodgy pull aways to realise :P

I got quite a lot of chrismas shopping done during the 3 hour breaks in our test work :D Cambridge is even more pretty in Winter, although I didn't feel like punting this time :P

Today as we were eating lunch in the cafe area of Addenbrookes hospital (as you do) they had a large youth wind band from a school playing some carols to bring some festive spirit to the place. It was awesome, a full wind band, I haven't enjoyed lunch so much in a long time. Took me back to playing in SYSWB (during the full band days) and also when I used to go to Pitsea Lesuire Centre to play to the old folks. I miss that. A lot. A hell of a lot. I wonder if the music teacher at Applebums even takes the kids to Pitsea any more :(

*stops rambling*

Did make me laugh how they were playing under a sign that says "This seating area is for customers of the food court only. Guests are asked to keep the noise at a minimum." Lets hope all 60 bandsmen were playing PP.

This is how people decorate Hotels in Cambridge...

This is how people graffitti in Cambridge...

Which surprizes me, as it's so close to Essex!! HAHA

Since Last Wednesday...

I was told last Wednesday that I have to come to Cambridge for work this week, hence the late weekend post. Thanks for the notice guys...

So Friday, after my hair cut, I pottered up to Guildford (which probably doesn't surprize you, I can't seem to stay away from that place). As soon as I worked out which part of Guildford I was meant to be in I enjoyed a very welcomed meal at G.Abbot then pottered up to the Union for duty.

Saturday morning saw yet again another 3 hour sleep marathon, then off to Essex to meet Pam at Upminster. Yes...I was going to a Peter Davison book signing. What a Geek. For those of you too "cool" to know who Peter Davison is , wiki him (thats look him up on Wikipedia).

Anyway, he signed our plank...

:D
So then I rushed home, then straight out back to Southend to meet with various people for a lunch of the Pizza Hut variety. We had a great waiter, his name being Amy, which to this day confuses me.

Next we jumped on a bus to Shoeburyness and played 3 hours of Rock Band. It turns out I'm Quite good at drumming :D
Shame I can't do it in real life....

Sunday involved spending some quality time with the one that I love....My Wii

Although I had to buy a new game for him first... Where you get to play surgeon and get to perform surgery :D SOOOOO AWESOME.

Although he game involved some kind of antibiotic gel....which healed everything!!! Wonder if they sell it on SJS??
