Fresher's Week

Well this week sees Fresher's week at the University of Surrey...Much fun and laughter to be had by all.
I took the day off work on Wednesday to go to the Fresher's fayre, and to help out on the St John Ambulance stand and to do first aid for the event. I had a great time, despite the miserable British weather. It was a great chance to catch up with some friends who aren't on placement, and also to meet some new bright eyed bushy tailed fresher's. It's also a great oppotunity to shout at huge crowds, and to try and out-shout the crys of the cheerleading stand :P
Byebye voice, it was nice while it lasted!
Also returned back to the G.town on Friday for some more first aid fun at the union. Friday night was a 'Flirt' themed night - School Disco - with special guest Dave Benson Phillips, from "Get Your Own Back." I beleive there was gunging going on upstairs on the stage, with victims such as the newly-appointed union president.
Ha Ha Ha.
So after that very long night, finishing at 0400, the next duty was River Sports Day at 1230 on Saturday. Luckily the weather was nice, so we just sat back and relaxed down by the locks in in sunny Guildford and watched random students battle it out in the water, getting very wet and muddy in the river (that was only a few inches thick...eeeeek).
Straight from that I headed off to a friends house, for a birthday celebration. I had yummy yummy carrot cake, and self-made pizza :D
And now, 0045 Sunday morning I sit in the Union, still, on another duty (Tease - The LGBT night) and wait till the happy time (0300) when I can head off back to a friend's house to sleep.
Unfortunately I have an early rise tomorrow, so I can be in Portsmouth for another duty at 1100 (does this surprize you at all???).
This year's Fresher's week duties doesn't even compare to last year's, which consisted of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (meeting and duty), Wednesday (Fayre and Duty), Friday, All day Saturday and all day Sunday. And I made all five 9am lectures all week. And had some very interesting conversations, which I have luckily managed to avoid this year also (although it came close :P).
